Craig T. Maske, P.E., CFM, is the Chief Planning Officer for the Harris County Flood Control District and is a registered professional engineer in Texas and Missouri, and a Certified Floodplain Manager.  Craig has 29 years of experience as a hydrologist, civil engineer, and planner.  His experience includes watershed planning studies, design of local and regional flood protection and mitigation projects, floodplain modeling and mapping, storm water quality compliance and training, and disaster recovery projects.  Craig is currently serving as the lead for HCFCD’s implementation of revised standards incorporating resilience based on updates to design rainfall resulting from NOAA Atlas 14.  He also serves as a Technical Advisor for HCFCD’s Modeling, Assessment, and Awareness Project (MAAPnext).  MAAPnext is utilizing next-generation methodologies and procedures to model and map flood hazards and provide the best information possible to Harris County’s many communities and residents.  This project will play a vital role in understanding flood hazards, identifying opportunities for comprehensive and multi-purpose mitigation, and enhancing the resiliency of the region.
