Chief Lobbyist / Director of Legislative Affairs

Daniel Gonzalez is the director of legislative affairs and chief lobbyist for the Texas Association of REALTORS®. In this position, he works with lawmakers, Texas REALTORS®, and consumers to influence public policy for the betterment of private-property ownership. Over the last 18 years, Daniel advocated for lower property taxes, more transparency in the local tax rate setting process, enhanced transportation infrastructure, and helped pass five constitutional amendments; one of which constitutionally prohibited real estate transfer fees in Texas.

Mr. Gonzalez joined the Texas Association of REALTORS® in August 2000. He previously served as legislative director for former state Rep. Tony Goolsby and as clerk to the Committee on House Administration. He also has volunteered his time working to elect numerous federal, state, and local candidates.

He holds a Political Science degree from Southwest Texas State University and a Masters of Business Administration degree (MBA) from St. Edward’s University. He is married to his beautiful wife Natalie and they have a 4 1/2-year-old daughter and a 19-month old son.
